Walliswood Landscaping – new website

Walliswood Landscaping - www.walliswoodlandscaping.co.uk

Hot Lemon is pleased to announce the publication of another new website for one of our clients – www.walliswoodlandscaping.co.uk

Whilst this is very much a work in progress still (content and additional pages will be added in due course to make the website more effective), the original objective of getting something up and running quickly with a fresh look and feel has been fulfilled.

We wanted to create a strong, yet simple, visual identity for this website that would communicate the core areas of the business in visual terms, supported by a simple typographic layout. Above all, we wanted the website to communicate the professionalism of the business and the straightforward attitude it has to delivering projects for its clients. We think we have succeeded, but comments on a postcard to the usual address if you have a different viewpoint ;-) .

Interestingly, the gardening / landscaping sector on the internet seems to have an even split between the “front page – how hard is a website anyway, do it at home brigade” and the “over produced looks like a soft furnishings website and undoubtedly cost a fortune group”. There didn’t seem to be many websites recognising the unique nature of the market at all.

However, what was common in all, was that most, if not all, were very static! No news updates, no new photos of recent installations or projects. Almost like “fire and forget” websites – “we’ve done the website, now for the next thing”. Not necessarily the right attitude to truly engage with an increasingly sophisticated online audience (who, this is the important thing, will use the internet increasingly to find these services).

And yes, before you say anything, it is only one page at the moment. However, this is being expanded to include, amongst other things, details on recent projects and testimonials – these being critical for any business trying to persuade new customers to use their services.
